Digital Trends - Consumer electronics companies are hurriedly embracing 3D technology, and Fujifilm is no exception, today announcing its FinePix Real 3D W3 compact camera that, like its predecessor, can take 3D still photos, but can also shoot high-definition 720p 3D video. The camera packs two 10 megapixel sensors—one for left, one for right—and also sports a mini HDMI 1.4 port for displaying 3D imagery on 3D-compatible televisions. Full text

Digital Trends - Nikon has debuted two new Coolpix cameras, including the 12.1 megapixel Coolpix S5100 with improved low-light shooting and the 14.1 megapixel Coolpix S1100pj. The Coolpix S1100pj is a followup to last yearâs S1000pj, which was the first digital camera with a built-in projector; the new edition increased the projectorâs brightness from 10 lumens to 14 lumens, and can also be hooked up to a computer via USB to project computer data on convenient nearby walls and surfaces. Digital Trends - Verizon took the wraps off the long-rumored Motorola Droid 2 today. It looks very similar to the original Motorola Droid, offering a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and the same size 3.7-inch display and 5-megapixel camera. The Droid 2 will come with Android 2.2, which features Adobe Flash Player 10.1 built-in, 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities, and high-speed Web browsing. The new Droid will again come with the 16GB of memory but can support up to 40 GB of total storage capacity, a small boost from the first Droid???s support for 32 GB. The Droid 2 will be available for pre-sale starting tomorrow, August 11, for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and new two-year service agreement. Full text

Digital Trends - Canadaâs Research in Motion might be embroiled in international intrigue, but the company is still taking time to announce new BlackBerry devices: today the company formally announced its BlackBerry 9300 Curve 3G, an evolutionary update to its entry-level BlackBErry smartphone that features a full QWERTY keypad, 3G mobile broadband, up to 32 GB of storage via a microSD/SDHC slot, and a video-capable two megapixel camera. Although the devices will ship with BlackBerry 5, the Curve 3G will be upgradable to BlackBerry 6, RIMâs forthcoming mobile operating system refresh, in the âcoming months.â Full text
