It's hard to believe that 10-megapixel resolution is available in point-and-shoot cameras, especially given that most consumers will probably compress their images and lower the resolution to make them easier to share! But if you want a high-resolution point-and-shoot digital camera you're in luck: Fujifilm has unveiled the geek-chic FinePix Z200fd, the newest model in the sleek, ultra-compact Z-series.
These cameras, with looks almost as nice as the photos they take, also feature 5X optical zoom along with face detection. They also have built-in self-timers--including a couple timer mode, where the camera automatically detects two faces and snaps the picture, and a group-timer model, where the camera will wait until the whole party is ready for its close-up.
And as with previous Z-series models, the Z200fd also offers dual image stabilization and the dual-shot mode, which fires off two shots, one with and one without the flash, so users can decide which produced the most pleasing shot. The FinePix Z300fd will be available in September for $299.95.
