AP - Before camera manufacturers one-upped each other with the number of megapixels, they one-upped each other with the zoom range of their lenses. And before that, in the 1960s, the "speed" of the lens, its ability to gather light, was the big selling point. Full text

AT&T on Tuesday announced the second of two new applications to keep people connected while on the move.

The company revealed JuiceCaster version 6.0 this week. The launch follows the release of Buzzwire last month.

The first application allows AT&T mobile subscribers to share videos and photos and post them to social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter for $2.99 a month.

JuiceCaster 6.0 provides AT&T customers with exclusive access to post directly to YouTube and Flickr. Users can check friends' status and automatically update their own on Facebook and Twitter. Users also can make friends in the JuiceCaster community and allow their content to be publicly viewed or create custom groups to limit viewing to friends.

The application works on compatible 2G and 3G AT&T phones, and users can sign up by texting Juice to 386.

"Summer travel doesn't have to mean taking a vacation from your online world," Mark Collins, VP of consumer data products for AT&T's wireless unit, said in a prepared statement. "There is real value and demand for giving consumers the tools to create and share video on the fly. JuiceCaster uniquely enables AT&T customers to use their wireless phones to capture, chronicle and share the world around them with their global network of friends."

The second application, Buzzwire, allows users to customize streaming media from more than 5,000 clips. "Today's Buzz" lists the 10 most popular video clips on the Internet. Buzzwire allows users to create their own video channels and stream directly to their phones.
